Lots of News...

Miss Lily is SIX WEEKS OLD today! She also went on her first walk today with Mommy outside and has started speaking! Her first two words were BUGGAW and NARE-RARE. We think that she was trying to say, "Please lay me flat so that I can pass my gas."

Also, Liz is celebrating the good riddance of her Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. She can feel her fingers for the first time since August!

I'm a happy girl!

A New First!

Well, somebody's increasingly large hind end has had to move into the next size diapers. She's got the cutest cheeks now...on both ends, and she's starting to smile a lot more! Hopefully we'll get some good pictures of her smiling in the next week!
Here's some new pictures:

What Mommy and Daddy wish I'd do more of...SLEEP!

Our friends the Panella's had a birthday party over the weekend and saved us a cookie from Molinaro's. We thought we'd let the baby try it but she just stared at it.

Sleepy, but not sleeping!

One Month Old!

Where did the time go? It seems like we just brought Lily home from the hospital! She's been a very good girl this week. Since Tuesday night, we've enjoyed 3 full nights of sleep, and Wednesday night, she slept most of the night but got up for only about ten minutes. We hope this continues. Mom and Dad are in much better moods when they've slept awhile!

She's starting to focus on things and has begun looking at us when we hold her. She's smiling some and we think we even heard a giggle or two. Time is flying by, and we can't remember what we used to do with our extra time. We are VERY happy!

I'll post more pictures later, including one Liz took of Lily's feet--it's so cute!

Miracle of Miracles...

Lily slept through the night! She slept from 11:15 to 5:30 this morning.

The only downside was waking up at 4:00 AM and realizing (in a panic)that we hadn't been up to feed her. I rolled over and both Liz and Lily were sound asleep. I sat up a little and I guess Liz could feel me hovering and she woke up and mumbled to me asking what I was doing. I told her I was just checking to make sure she was still breathing--it was awfully quiet!

Hopefully we'll be having more nights like this!

Over The River and Through The Woods...

We took our first trip out today with the baby...

...To Grandma's house!

We surprised Barb and Doug with stopping by, but the real surprise was for Brody and Hooper. They weren't sure if they were supposed to cuddle Lily or eat her. We helped them keep their distance, but not before Hooper got one good face lick in. They only barked when Lily cried, so that the baby would know that no one in the house is allowed to be louder than them. Hooper was really the only one interested. Brody sniffed Lily and went to lay down. Lily really doesn't have a chance with Brody until she learns how to throw treats.

All in all, we hope it wore Lily out and that she will sleep tonight. She's been a good girl the last couple of nights, and we're hoping for the same tonight! (Knock wood!)

You Probably Had To Be There...

A Conversation Between Mother and Father:

Liz: I think her diaper is dirty. I just changed it, though, maybe we should check it.

Mike: Okay.

Liz: Can you just smell her diaper? (Lifts baby's bum toward Mike.)

Mike: Sure. (Moving toward baby.)

Liz: Just see if you smell anything.

Mike: I don't smell anyth--- (Mike is cut off by Lily's perfect timing gas passing, right in her father's face.)

Conversation is over, because Liz is laughing hysterically and trying not to drop the baby. Mike passed out. (Not really, but it ends the scene well.)

Easter Preview...

Our friend Pat Chapin (Kelly Burgess's Mom) gave us a little bunny for Lily. We thought it would make a good Easter preview!

New Videos!

New Pics for March...

Well, everything is going well, with the exception of sleeping. Liz and I are zombies. We're hoping it gets better soon, but for now it's a bit frustrating. We have a whole new respect for any single parent doing it themselves! We can barely keep up with both of us working at it!

Loving the Boppy...

The Boppy is a "C" shaped pillow designed to make holding the baby easier. We've found that it has other uses as well:

Liz who?

Siobhan is under the impression that I had the baby, not Liz. When she talks about it with others, specifically her Nana and Aunt Barbara, she refers to the baby as "Mike's Baby." When she is corrected that Liz had the baby, Siobhan responds with a giggle and says, "No, Mike's Baby."

Poopzilla

Not much explanation needed. Our lives are revolving around diapers, day and night. In the last couple of days, we have seen an increase in the amount of dirt in the dirty diapers--and we've been very excited about it. Is that sad?

Paula Meets Lily!

Aunt Paula meets Lily for the first time!

Bath Time and Aunt Paula

Lily had a little sponge bath, and Aunt Paula came for a visit with her FIANCE Steve (wedding in May!). They spent the whole afternoon with us. We can't wait for them to have their own baby!
